Thinking of making a machine upgrade in the future, and have been hearing some good reviews on the dewalt scroll saw dw788. Anyone like to comment?

It is a matter of personal preference...I look for ease of blade change--Top feed vs bottom feed - 788 can do both--size of work surface/table...vibration or lack of & Price and reputation....Do some research, try a saw if you can find a store that has saws setup....read the threads on this forum for an opinion....Let us know what you decide.

"Best" can be debated. It's probably the most popular. There are several other brands out there that may be considered better or the best by those who own them. Bottom line though is, you have to spend at least several hundred dollars to get one any better.

I dont really think it is the BEST scrollsaw, but dollar for dollar, I do think its the best value. It has everything I need in a scrollsaw, and I'm pleased with mine. Try out an Eclipse, thats a very smooth running machine too, although a few dollars more.

I agree with Lucky. I own one and love it but there are better ones, just have to pay a whole bunch more $ to get a little better saw.

I agree, you can pay a lot more and probably get a better saw. For the price I like mine a great deal.

Thumbs up

I love mine, as well. For the $money$ you can't do better. Smooth and reliable. Try it you'll like it, as someone once said.
