Default Woodworkers Respirator

Some years back I bought an AO Safety Woodworkers Respirator model 95190 at Sears along with some extra replacement filters for it. The thing really works great so I wanted to buy one for my grandson. The exhaust ports are located on the sides and it doesn't fog your glasses up. Well it appears some !@#$%^&* bean counter decided it wasn't profitable enough because it is no longer available. I can't think of any other reason why they would discontinue a product that works so well and was reasonably priced. I have searched online and all sites state; unavailable!

Hi Merlin,

I already tryed that. Sears shipped me a 3M paper filter with a valve in the front instead of the Rubber AO Safety Woodworkers Respirator that I ordered although they charged me for the Woodworkers type. I then had the hassle of returning. Thanks for trying though.

PS After I submitted this post I tryed E.bay again and bought one brand new! Must be my day! Now all I have to do is find some replacement filters.

Many particle respirators are on back order because of the H1N1 flu, I think.

Hi Shawn,

You may be right about demand and back orders but I would assume they would be for the paper or foam N95 particulate filter masks. What I am refering to is a rubber unit that is reusable and has replaceable filter media designed for woodworkers.

E.bay currently has 83 listings for the paper or foam type.

Hey, Stoney, sounds like you should not buy from Sears. All they want is your money, huh? If they don't cater to their customer, why are they there? Good luck in your search. Perk

Harbor Freight has several different models of AO Safety respirators at a reasonable price. But, the price at Sears seems pretty good.

Stoney, look at Industrial Safety Equipment: Hard Hats, Safety Glasses, Gloves and Signs
They have a rubber face mask with replaceable filters. CFR-1 N95. I have one, it will not fog glasses and is very comfortable to wear.
