Hi all, im buying a scrollsaw, im lookin into Proxxon DSH and Dremel ScrollStation.. Proxxon is advertizing that it can cut wood up to 5cm thick, plastic 2cm and aluminium up to 1cm!! I read about Dremel and its thicknesess seem to be quite lower. Would i be able to cut 0.6mm ALU with Proxxon and not with Dremel? Is it possible at all to cut ALU that thick since i read that its hard to cut? Im would like to hear if anybody has any experiences with any of the above saws? Im from Europe, so, those are the two saws that to me seem like best two choices.. Thanks, looking foreward to hearing some taughts.. Oskar |

Never heard of a Proxxon. I have the Dremel 1800 and like it but someone said a few days ago that Dremel was discontinuing their scrollsaws. There are probably still some in some stores but I guess no more will be made. Ron W |

Hi Oskar, I've tried the Dremel but it isn't fair for me to compare it to the Proxxon which I haven't taken for a test drive. However, I've posted an article on my blog (here on SSWC) that may help you evaluate the two saws. Toni
