Hello everyone. I am a newby to the board but not to scrollsawing. I am very interested in doing portrait pattern sawing and would appreciate any advice anyone has for me. I recently downloaded Coyote Stencil demo, Gimp, Serif PhotoplusSE, and I use Adobe Photoshop Elements for my other digital picture editing. I purchased Gary Browning's first book and I have been to Steve Good's site. Tha's a brief description of where I am so help me if you can. I also sent a private message to Ozarkhillbilly. Thanks in advance. John |

Welome, John. There are some tutorials on the board in the Pattern section. You can find them here: Scroll Saw Design Tutorials - Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts Message Board That should give you a good start. Ray

Ibsawin, welcome to the board first of all. Lots of friendly and knowledgable folks here. If your looking for a good tutorial on using gimp for photo pattern making, try scroll saw village also. THere is a very detailed, 6 or 7 part tutorial on using gimp. IT help me tremendously.
