Hi, Rick. There's really no rule on that. I figure people can make their gifts at whatever pace they feel comfortable with (so long as they're in time for the Holidays, I guess ) .

Hello Shawn,

I was just thinking what is that all about secret santa and stuff, and so i came to this tread. I'm to late to enjoy,? I would love to make a present for one of you guys ( or girls) , please let me know if i can do this, or else it should be next year..

I started on my Secret Santa gift this weekend. It was my first project in a little over 2 years and I have to say that after being away from the saw for that long, I was afraid of what I would end up with. But it was just like riding a bike. I really thought I'd end up just making a pile of scrap wood. But it actually came out pretty good. And it felt so good to once again make a sawdust mess.

I think I'm gonna need a bigger shop vac though. Maybe Santa will bring me one for Christmas.

That’s my secret Santa gift finished. Just need to wait for a gap in the postal strike to send it. The next strike dates are Friday and Monday anything posted on or within theses dates are stored in a warehouse until they can get around to them???? Might see how much it costs to send by other means (UPS or DHL).
