I'm cutting a puzzle with about 25 inside cuts, and I'm starting to appreciate what you fretworkers go through with your frequent blade reinsertions. I have a Dewalt 788 and am considering purchasing the Jim Dandy EZ-Lift Arm attachment. Does anyone have familiarity with this or something similar? Does it work well? Does the constant weight of it on the upper arm affect the performance or longevity of the saw? Here is a link to the accessory. Jim Dandy Products: Products Thanks. |

Hi Shawn, I have the 788 also, but have never had a problem with the lift....that said, have you tried tightening the nut/bolt almost directly behind the the "D" on De walt? That helped me out .... Jerry..... PS Sorry I didn't have a smart comment for this one

Ditto what Steve said. I can't see any reason that the lift would ever effect the saw's longevity. Pat

I too have the Dewalt 788. For a long time I was too "cheap" to buy the lift figuring a block of wood would serve the same purpose. Now having used the lift arm for some time I don't know why I didn't get it sooner. If you think it comes in handt with 25 interior cuts, just wait until you try something with several hundred interior cuts - you will be glad you spent the $20.00 DG Dewalt 788 |

I have the easylift on two of my dewalts. It is worth the $20.Ive had it on the saws for years and it hasnt caused any problems at all. With it installed it sure helps with fretwork. Once you got it on your saw, every once in a while use some dry lube on the brass bushing supplied with it.If that is neglected eventually you will wear out the slot in the easylift arm DAMHIKT . Its $20 well spent.

Another vote for the easy lift. That and a footswitch are the 2 best accessories you can get, IMHO.

I recently bought it and installed it because of the recommendations on this list. I found the spring hard to position - that's probably a good thing. I've only used it a couple of time but found I need a counter weight attached to the end. I am glad I got it - I know I'll use it more and more.

I've got the ez lift and wouldn't be without it. Even tho I don't do fret work, it comes in handy more than I probably realize unless I took it off! Definitely a must have.
