Default New at this, but will give it a try

I've been scrolling for about 9 to 10 years consider my self good at most ,enjoy patterns of cats in particular but usually choose by appeal. I belong to the Garden state marquetry club, meets once a month and is a deversified group of crafters in many veins. It's a club where everyone helps each other to acheive there project. Nice thing is the comaderie.
Thanks for the welcome aboard.

Welcome Robert!

Quick question, may I presume your scroll saw experience and your membership in a marquetry club means you do marquetry with a scroll saw???

If so, can you start a thread about your selection of scroll saw blades (size and teeth, but please no brands...), thickness of wood, and show us some of your work as examples?

Point is, some talented marquetry and inlay people (who also do scroll sawing projects) claim they prefer using medical surgical knifes and scalpels over a scroll saw for inlay marquetry because of the kerf width of most scroll saw blades leaves a gap. The veneer thickness of so many marquetry inlays is way, way thin so a 3 degree angel on the saw table won't help much hide the gap. Care to weigh in on that?

Again, welcome.

Phil

Welcome Robert, I presume when you say the Garden State Marquetry club that you hail from New Jersey. Try the pattern vault, I know there are some cat patterns there.
Your name got my attention, My best friend in the navy was named Robert F. Lewis and was from Jersey.
