At Christmas, needless to say, many received some of my scrolled wood crafts as gifts. Also the wife had made a couple things with my Dewalt to gift. Here is where the trouble beckons: While every one was oohing at ahhing at the goodies they all got my sister made the comment that I needed to start "An adult women's wood working class!" One sister, two neices, 2 friends are all now asking me when this is going to happen. Think I would rather stick with my teen-agers in 4-H! LOL as trying to get a word in edge-wise with the ladies is out-of-the-question! |

Not wanting to sound sexist, I have to ask what, exactly, would be different between an adult women's class and a regular class. I've taken a few classes at, for example, Woodcraft and it seemed to me that, while the student body was overwhelmingly male, the females in attendance weren't at any disadvantage. Heck, in terms of scrolling, women quite often do far better than men do, at least in the beginning, because many of them have been subjected to gender-separate education at some level and were taught sewing while the boys were shunted off to auto shop. Again, I'm not trying to start a big argument here, I was just wondering. |

That is a great idea and if you can teach teenagers then women should be no problem lol. Don't be so sexist roflmbo........just teasing. Seriously I wish there were classes close to me since I'm a newbie and trying to learn on my own. Christina

We are getting 2 Great Dane puppies net weekend. So I have been busy making 30 pads that will fit in their crates that are easy to wash and throw away if chewed up. I also made proper fabric covers for our 2 giant metal crates so they can go into them and relax without seeing everthing else that is going on. sort of like their own room. Anyway my point is that after learning how to use a sowing machine, I thunk my scroll saw is a lot easier to master. So teaching women to scroll might just be easier than us men types would like to admit.

You know. living up to are own expectation, is sometimes so hard, living up to others expectations, is imposable. I say, well its not my saying, it is John Bradsaws. "" I came hear to live my life, and when I die, I wont it to be MY life I lived. "" Just say thank you for your advise, that is a idea. I will put some thought to it. alot of folks just wont to have some ideas, and feel special. but you don't have to feel any obligation, or commitment to any of it. for me, this is my hobby. and I don't wont it to be my job right now. that would suck. your friend Evie
