This is an old style puzzle that has been around the sites for years. I don't know the origin of its name and I only cut out one about 5 or 6 years ago. A couple were visiting here a few days ago to pick up a few pens I had custom made for them and saw that puzzle sitting on a shelf and were curious about it. I took it apart and had to help them put it back together. lol Then this morning I got a phone call and they wanted me to make three of them in three different woods so here they are both together and apart in pine, cedar and mahogany. As far as I know there are no copywrites on it because it has been shown on several sites over the years. I received it by email from a salesman member of this site about six or seven years ago . To be on the safe side I will wait and see if there would be any reprocusions about sharing it . W.Y. |

Jim I may be wrong, but if you study the design on this compound cut you could draw it up and make it. I know what my first project will be tomorrow in the shop. Boy did i set myself up for a sleepless night.

Bill Nice puzzles there! They are fun making and solving. WD You are right about drawing the pattern. But you don't have to draw it the same. Any interlocking pattern will work. Just two sides are cut and they should both interlock. I cut them free hand.....no pattern. Just use your imagination. They are the most broken items I sell at shows.....people try to force them back together. I also make one that doesn't interlock, I call it a drop puzzle.......you drop it on the table and the fun begins, because it comes apart into nine pieces. Bill Sorry if I hijacked your thread. I just wanted to give out some info. My apoligizes. |

I'd be very interested in that pattern if you are able to disseminate it. I'm not creative enough to come up with my own. Love how you made yours!

Very nice. Maybe if I ever set my saw for thick cutting I'll remember to try some of these at 3"-4" square. A fun looking thing indeed. Tor
