I have been thinking of giving them a try as well. my hubby said I should plane the finish off first though. mmm why. would that dull my blade faster?? or harder to glue up?? I would love to give it a try as well.the wood is dryed already, and wonder if they would warp to easy, like other hard woods. or plywoods. and, just becouse there is so many pretty woods made for the floor. that I can't find in my area. in just bair wood. they have tons of it on ebay. in the kitchen department. lots cheaper than wood bords. soooo. I will be watching your thread. thanks your friend Evie

Carter ,
Wouldn't the 3/4 inch thick hardwood floor be to thick for puzzles?

Being a hardwood flooring installer, I end up with LOTS of flooring scraps. I have built boxes for all my 'girls' (all 7). I end up burning a lot of smaller material as it tends to become overwhelming after a few months. There are months that I will install over 10,000 or more square feet in a month at times. I haven't used laminate as it is very tough on blades

Exclamation Hardwood Flooring !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been told not to run that hard wood flooring though the wood plane-er, it would do a number on the blades. I have some of that flooring scrap also and wondered what to do with it. But theirs got to be a use for it. Marshall

I have friend that installs hardwood floors and I receive lots of let overs from time to time. Most are about 1/2" thick and I run them through the planer and made ornaments from the larger pieces and smaller ones I join together

I have some T&G solid oak flooring scraps. I'm planning on splitting them in 1/2 ish so I can get closer to 1/4" pieces, then cut into Christmas ornaments.
