Default Help needed, a question about glue.

I need to attach antlers to the danedeer I am makin. I am thinking about drilling small holes and inserting wire, and then glue. Does anyone have any better ideas and what type of glue should I use? The pic below is what I am working on. The antlers are just stuck on for the picture.

Ok, I think what I might do is drill the hole like you are doing, but make it just a hair bigger to fit a tennon or dowel type part sticking of the antlers. I would then use wood glue and they'd never ever come apart.

I'm finding it a bit difficult to see from that photo how the antlers are supposed to fit (nice work, BTW ) but assuming the antlers are each separate, here's what I would do...

... drill a small hole with a Dremel-type tool into the head of the deer where the antlers will be affixed. Snip off the end of a veneer pin and epoxy it in the hole with the sharp end of the pin sticking up towards the antler. Press the antler onto the pin then remove it, enlarging the prick with the Dremel drill. Apply epoxy to the antler and press it into position.

It sounds convoluted but in practice it's quick and provides a very strong bond (especially if you use a five minute epoxy).

I would probably use a technique like the wood carvers do when attaching heads onto the bodies of decoys. I think they use some kind of a hole and peg arrangement and a quick setting epoxy- or Quick Wood. I have never tried it myself.

Thanks guys, I will try the epoxy. Need to make floppy ears now and they will get stuck on the same way.
