| You can make them as fancy or as simple as you desire. they do need to be sturdy so that they won't break easily. I tend to make simpler ones as you can see in the pics I posted of some unfinished ones I cut out last year. They are faster to cut out especially when stack cutting 5 at a time. That would be great if your school could help out with bags and/or writing letters to "Dear Service Member" we will be needing at least 15,000 letters from Grade School Children, as we put 2 per bag from them and one from older children/adult.
Thanks again:

| The people in this forum are really GREAT!!! The ornaments have started coming in and they look Great. I talked to Tawny and between what she has gathered in Germany, and had sent to her so far, and what we have here, we are up to 2000 ornaments. That is so neat to see the generosity of the people here. Now we only have 5500 more to go to reach our goal of 7500. We have several schools here who will be helping to write letters, decorate bags and make ornaments as well. But, it has been a lot, because of your generosity and example, that you have set, that has encouraged the teachers and children to want to do more to help our Service Members and in doing so show their Patriotism as well. And maybe also give them an opportunity to really learn what it really means to serve one another, as you are doing.
Thank you so much!

| Ray,
I spent all day Monday (in between a couple "honey-do's") and came up with 122 ornaments. Also solicited the grammar school to decorate them, as well as some bags for you. I'll keep you posted.

| Ornaments received so far Just thought I'd pass on how things are going with Ornaments for Project Rudolph. So far we have received 664 scrollsawn and laser cut wooden ornaments from people all over the USA that is AWESOME!!!
We have Art classes in several local school districts waiting for ornaments to paint or stain as part of their opportunity to help out, so if you just want to cut them and mail them to us, these kids will sand and finish them.
Thanks again for all your help. I really means a lot.

| If you don't mind, I would like to post this info on the Patriot Guard riders web site. I am not sure what kind of a response you will get, but I will make a couple. |

| Ray,
An update....I am picking up my ornaments and bags from the Grammar School on Tuesday, and mailing them to you that afternoon. In all they decorated 400 bags and 122 ornaments. I know that probably doesn't put even a small dent in what you need, but I guess it's something.
Have you made a list of where all the ornaments and bags came from. That would be interesting reading. To me any way.
Best always,
Mike |

| I found out about Project Rudolph from another scrollers forum and have already decided to contribute a couple of dozen ornaments myself. My question is, can the ornaments be cut out of cds? These are very durable, but I'm concerned about the reflective properties of the shiny film on a cd. I'm ex Army myself and those old instincts came back and made me think.

| jblock9907,
That would be great if you posted that to other forums. That is how we have been able to spread the word around. The responses have been great. So Post away!!!!!
