| Turned out better than I would have expected for that color.I have quite a bit corian pieces, but havent scrolled much of it, but what I did scroll turned out pretty nice.I used a FD polar blade, and didnt have any trouble with cutting, but had plenty of problems trying to cut it using a FD-TC blade as I was warned beforehand. One of these days I should start making something with my corian pile huh? Evie, check cabinet makers, they may have a few pieces for you to try. If they give you a hunk, cut them something out of the first batch, then they may be looking forward to giving you more and more. I was told it can be planed through a regular planer, but I am scared to try it on mine, I cant afford a new planer if the advice I was given isnt true.I do have a fairly large sheet of white corian 1/4th inch thick, just waiting for the right project to come along. | Steve,
I also am surprised at how nice that pattern looks in that dark a color.
Nice attention to detail with the rounded edges and the polished edges.
Our club did a session on corian recently and lots of our members had trouble cutting it.
I used the polar blade and had no issues.

| Hi Y'all, I have been out of town so I will try to answer everyone. This was 1/2" cut with an Olson PGT #7 at 1100spm. It created a white powder dust and I recommend wearing a mask when cutting or sanding. I did break a couple of blades at higher speeds as they tended to heat up fast. I also would recommend drilling slow with a block on the opposite side so it does not break out and to pre-drill the screw holes to attach the base so it does not bust the piece.I sanded this with 180 grit and applied very light coats of lacquer for the finish. The only problem that I have with the piece is that the clock is not wanting to stay in. Steve |

| Very well done - I am going to hit up my contractor friends - most of that stuff goes into the trash bin.

Nice cutting! That color sure looks good with that pattern. I like how you put lacquer on it, don't think I've seen Corian with a finish on it before. |
