| First Try At Baskets Hi Everyone, this is my first try at baskets. I had some maple with a lot of character in the wood meaning lots of different grains and colors. The rectangular basket is 8 & 5/8"L x 6 & 1/4"W x 8"T the inside is 3 & 3/4"D. The round one is 7"Dia. x4 & 3/8"D x 11"T. Does anyone know what these sell for at shows? These are not finished in the photos, just cut and stacked. Steve |

| I have made a few of those myself. I made mine of pine and I stained the pieces before assembly. I then glued the sections together using white glue (dries clear) and a micro pin nailer to hold them in place while drying. I like the handles on yours. I did not put handles on mine. I will have to try that. I was making decrotive boxes to serve as naplkin holders. I first made a 6" tall box of 1'x6"s Then sliced off the sections on my table saw and then cut these sections (that looked like picture frames) with my scroll saw. Works well and wastes little wood like cutting them out of a bunch of flat boards does.

| Steve,
Those are some nice looking baskets. My first attempt at a basket wasn't very good (it promptly became designer fire wood). It took doing it several times before I got the hang of it. Looks like you are a quick learner.

| Thanks for the compliments everyone. Like I said this was my first attempt at baskets. I still have some assembly and finishing to do on these yet. Evie, the maple was not to bad to cut. I just had to change blades a little more often because they dulled pretty quick. I still prefer the red oak as these two are cut from. Steve |

Miss matched wood grains to give a different look. They are cut from 5/8" thick wood. Anyone have any idea what baskets like these sell for? Steve |

| Nice baskets Steve, can't help you you with the selling price but was wondering did you glue or screw the handles on?

The assembly instuctions call for gluing and clamping. I am afraid of splitting the wood to use screws but I would prefer using them. I haven't assembled because of needing glue that dries clear and I am out until tomorrow. Steve |
