Love the red oak NO screws maybe a couple of Escutcheon Pins, round head brass nails pre-drilled in the handle. Remmember in all probability people will not really be carrying loads in these baskets.

Hi Tom, Thanks for the input. Now that is a little different design than I have. Would you mind telling me where that design comes from as I am looking for some various shapes and designs. Thanks, Steve

steviegwood have you seen the basket book by John Nelson? I've bought used scrolling books from Amazon and never had a problem with their 3rd party sellers. Just a thought.

Nice basket Steve & Tom. If I put a $40 price tag on that where I go, I would be carting it back & forth for years!!! I stopped doing little baskets like that as they are time consuming to cut, I only cut 3 rings at one time at most, and they just didn't sell. No matter what I did to them. The baskets I sent to Steve are the ones I make most of my money from. And depending on how small I make the pattern or how large I enlarge, is the price I charge. Mine start at $15 and go to $60. The smaller ones I can stack cut 2 or 3 at a time and the largest one only takes about 20-30 minutes to cut, depending on how many rings I cut. The newest baskets I cut, the first picture, I sold for $130 for a matched set. They were very time consuming but I really like them and I can get the higher price for them. I also carry Toni's starlite basket and it is my very best seller. The middle one, in that size, is $40 and the box elder sold for $30, even though it was small I charged more for the wood. And are you ready for this, it only took me 5 minutes to add these pictures!! What am I doing wrong!!! LOL

I haven't gotten to those yet Betty but working towards them. I love the wood on the third photo. Box Elder, where did you find that? It is a beautiful wood. Steve

Steve -Your baskets look great. Have made and sold stack baskets at shows for about the past 4/5 years. I sell baskets like yours starting at $32.00. I use super glue to assemble the layers, no clamping needed. I glue and pin the handles to the baskets using round toothpicks on the smaller baskets and a cut off brass machine screw with acron nuts to attach the handles on the larger baskets. Good luck with your sales. One other thing, I use the insides of each layer to make smaller baskets, just reduce the size of your pattern to fit the leftover inside blanks.
