Default Slit in rear of clamp

G'day Tom,
I have often wondered the same thing.

My thoughts on it are that if your mitre is only out a whisker you may be able to insert a hand saw into this groove and re-cut the joint. You'd still have to be bloody accurate as the kerf would have to follow the original joint. Theoretically this would give you a perfect joint when you placed the pieces together. I have never tried it and don't know of anyone that has.

You win the Golden Miter Saw award John. That is exactly what it is for. If you use a very sharp pull saw with a thin kerf it works great. Just be sure your clamp is tight so the pieces can't move.

If I tried to cut off a whisker, I'd probably end up with a bigger wisker on the other side. (And then would I ever look funny!)

Right now I'm becoming a fan of the sawdust and glue technique.
