Hey all, I've been surfing the net all day doing research on this subject. I am a noob when it comes to scrolling but I know wood prety well. I got a saw from my brother. cant beat it for the price...FREE. Its a 22" Summit brand. I dont know it its worth beans but it seemed to work enough to make a puzzel out of a piece of cardboard for my girls. ![]() You can see the saw on the right. I have something in mind for a project. I have a pic and photochoped it: ![]() I will be getting some blades and stock in the near future to get started. Any input/Advice would be greatly appreciated. I have learned a lot through just researching on the net and this looked like a good place to get educated. Thanks all, Mark |

I broke the one blade that came with the saw and need more. The blade has pins on either end (well, it did ). In looking to find more, I am confused just a bit. It seems they dont all come with the pins and I was thinking I would like to use blades w/o so I can do more intricate work using smaller pilot holes. The Summit saw I got from my brother dosent seem to exist on the net. At least that I could find. Befor I buy blades, do you have any advice? Mark | |

There are two types, pinned and pinless. Most blade manufacturers make both and you can find them in most of the "big box" lumber yards. Sears also has them in the hardware department. You will be limited in the size of your pilot holes by the pins. There are some adapters that allow you to use pinless blades, but I don't know if they are available for your saw. After sawing for a while, you'll be looking to upgrade to a pinless model. It happens to everybody. I found this place, but they are on the other side of the world: http://www.woodworking.com.au/ Go to scrollsaw accessories. I also found this place: www.summit-tools.com It might be a model they had made for them. Finally, RickH might be able to help: www.scrollsaws.com
