Really nice job on the lady I love that you didnt paint her. What kind of wood did you use and what kind of stain. Your daughter will be happy to recieve something so nice. It will be come a family heir loom to be passed on for ever. Colin |

Nicely done, a simple yet ellegant piece. Your daughter should be very happy to find that under her tree. I like the grain ....how it flows into the design, and very glad you finished it naturally. ![]() Well done. Bob |

Hello Greyhair, That's an awesome carving. I love the way you used the natural wood to enhance the carving. What's the wood---what finish did you use? How big is the carving? Your daughter is a lucky young lady. I've found that my kids and grandkids love to get carvings from me and I hope and believe the carvings will be around long after their video games have worn out and they've outgrown me! Good Job and thanks for sharing! Donna T |

This is a piece of basswood that was finished with Watco Danish Oil and then waxed with wood floor polish. She is 16 inches tall.

nice carving, a little hard to tell by the pictures, assuming it is a stylized carving....the wood has a sheen that almost looks like cypress knees! Good job! |

Looks like a keeper there Greyhair-- The sculpture looks superb in size, ratio, anatomy, and of course the outstanding use of grain in relation to the flow of the subject. Thanks for sharing.
