Hey folks
Some of you know me and some of you don't. I'm a meadiocre carver that carves mostly walking sticks and some birds. My hero, or is that heroin, is Nancy Goff. I hope to be as good as her some day and have as many tools as she does. I live in Huntsville, AL (north Alabama). I have been reading here for a few day but haven't been able to add much. There are some really knowledgable carvers here. Maybe I'll ask a few questions.
Well, happy holidays to all of you. I'll be around. I miss the old Shaddy Rest.

Hey, Al, welcome here! By the way, I just finished another Santa pin from your pattern for my wife.....gave her one last year but my niece (8 YO) snagged it right away.

Texas here Al

I have been doing mostly canes and sticks and some wood spirits on some of the sticks. This is a great place and some great carvers, unfortunately i am not that good but enjoy carving anyway.

Everybody should have something they do because they enjoy it, not because they're good at it. Woodcarving is that thing for me!

Hey Al,

Welcome to the board. I a relatively newbe. We have a wide range of experience here. It's great because pretty much any question regardless of the complexity, the knowledge base is here. (I ask a lot of the elementary questions) And it sounds like you may be a big part of that experienced knowledge base. So thanks for joining us!

Happy Carving!!!
Jim
