Hi everyone, We are in the final stages of putting together the new message board (just in time it seems) and I wanted to share my idea for the threads: General Carving Holiday Carving Caricature Carving Animal Carving Relief and Chip Carving Finishing Tools, Materials and Sharpening I went back through all the old threads to see what people's suggestions were, and this is what I came up with. Is it too many, not enough, or just right? Let me know Bob Duncan Fox Chapel Publishing

Are you going to drop the beginner section or will it sort of be part of the other discussions

I think that looks like a good list! Just put Ricks littleshaver site up for 'beginners'....he has too much time on his hands anyway.....oops....my prices just went up : |

From the other posts when I asked this before, it seemed like most people felt the beginner and general sections could be combined (most people read both of them anyway). Bob

Well since you asked! I vote for continuing the Beginners Carving forum...not that I'm a beginner but I think it would make the board more 'inviting' to any Newbie who wished to post a question, 'Hey there's a place for me to ask a question'. |

You may want to take the extra 'C' out of Caricature. ![]() I Think the Caricature section could be rolled into General; it has never been very active. I would also like to see the beginner's section remain; It is one section where guests and new carvers may visit and not feel intimidated. It is also where I like to post beginning carving tips that might seem condescending to more experienced carvers. |

Personally, I'd have to agree with Old_Gord, I've posted a lot of messages to the Beginner board. I figured folks wouldn't be bothered by the newbie questions since that was what the section was for. mikeg
