This angel which is titled "Dawn of Creation, Praise at 1st daybreak" is my latest carving. I am still working on photography and have not been able to get the colors right. It is carved in tupelo and painted with watercolors.

Paul - that's very lovely. I'd love to 'really' see and touch that.

Really nice Paul. Colors look okay to me. BTW where is Alpena located. Is it West of Harrison on US 62 before you reach Berryville or Green Forest? I know I've been thru there but can't recall for sure where you're located. (Guess I could look on a map!!)

Thanks to all for the kind words on my angel carving. The colors do not accurately show the light (coming from the lower right). The shadows do show fairly well on the angel but each wing has a light and dark side which is not visible in the photos. Guess I will have to improve my picture taking if I am going to show my carvings this way. To answer the question of Carver6, my address happens to be Alpena which is the location of the post office. I live at the end of a county road about 7 miles south of Alpena along U.S Hwy 412. We are 25 miles from Harrison and 50 miles from Fayetteville. It is an isolated location with the nearest neighbor being a quarter mile away.

As my darling little Granddaughter use to say, "prettyful". Outstanding Piece!
