Default Always Up for a Challenge

Hey, Nancy...ever since you mentioned a santa wrapped in a flag again, it's been on my mind. Finally got the inspiration and got it done. I just posted it to the carvers-r-us picturetrail site. I've named him 'Freedom Santa'

Hope you like him.

Teri

Great job Teri, as usual your work is great I really like this one. Where do you keep coming up with all these ideas? Tell me do you draw out the design first or do you just improvise as you go? No matter what it is always nice to see your work.

Thanks, all. Colin, no, I don't draw out my pieces first...I just start with finding where the head and shoulders will be and then start carving. I usually have a general idea of where I'm going, but I never really know until I get there. Makes it more fun that way....and nobody really knows when I've made a mistake!

Teri
I am very impressed and touched by your freedom santa. Of course as a vet myself I am easily moved by things like that. Keep up the good work.
Cheers

Teri, I love it...I like the detail of the flag, I like the way he appears to be looking off in the distance, and I like the idea in general. It's not a project I think I could pull off if I tried. Not and have the results that are necessary.

Thanx for the effort.

Teri,
You combined two things I love, Santas, and the American Flag. As a Vet it's the flag, as a dreamer I still believe in Santa.
Great carving and great paint job. thanks for showing it to us.
