Default My next carving project

Hello

I have had the idea of post here my next project.
Is a wooden hobby horse for my 2 year-old son 'Isak'
It is my birthday gift for him.

This the picture pattern.

Saturno, that looks like an excellent project! Are you going to use Basswood and paint it or a grainy wood like Butternut and oil finish it? I would recommend something non-toxic for a finish for a childs toy. If you use an oil finish, use walnut oil or any oil that is food safe.

I will make this toy with Mediterranean Pine, this is a soft wood. Here it is difficult to get basswod or butternut. :-/

And for finish, I have in mind to use a no-toxic paint.
Usually I use acrilyc water base paint and varnish.

Al, Isak have many balls, but their favorite toys are my tools
