Default Thank you Marilyn Carmin

For years I admired the work of Marilyn Carmin, and was drawn to her designs. I probably purchased every, okay, maybe not every one of her wildlife patterns - but I do have a library of them.

Marilyn has been a regular in the magazines for sometime, and she has come up with some of the most original composites of wildlife fretwork. I consider her "often imitated, never duplicated".

Marilyn has this "My Spirit Soars" in the current issue of CWC . I simply couldn't resist this one - it looks like her older work which has inspired me over the years. This version in cut from 1" clear pine, and 1" cedar.

Thank you Marilyn, for your fine design(s) and for creating the way only you can.

That looks really nicely done, Toni. I've never cut any of Marilyn's patterns but I've admired them in the magazines - they're always a little different ..

Does she have a website BTW?

Thanks for your kind comments.

Some time back, I believe she had a site called "Heartland Creations" but I don't believe she has it anymore. (I understand why) Perhaps Bob or the folks here at Fox would know more - how to get her patterns.

Take care
Toni

I really like that one. How large is it and how thick is the wood? However, I wish you would have posted it with a larger file size so I could see it a little larger. Very nice, though.

This one is about 24" with the wing span, and cut out of 1" thick pine. The circle is 1" thick cedar. I simply loved the grain of the wood.

Take care
Toni

That is a nice piece of cedar. I figured it to be walnut. Is the posted photo an accurate rendition of the cedar?

Nice cutting of a very nice pattern. I hope if I scroll long enough some of the talent like you and MC will wear off on me.
