I have 6 crosses on the go - 3 separate designs - and have found that I really enjoy making these pieces. These are the first two. The crosses (walnut) and the Christ figures (elm) are separate patterns from Wildwood.

The darker one was brushed with Danish oil before finishing - you'll note that the lighter one has had to have a bit of a pattern "adjustment" thanks to the sanding mop .....

My last coat of polyurethane had a milky appearance just after spraying which I've haven't seen before - assume that I might have put it on a little too thick? - in any even it seemed to dry just fine.

I am making backings for the other crosses and they aren't finished yet.

the backing makes a big different , CHRIST are easier to see but the crosses are not , maybe it are mine computer or my eyesight or both
the cross on mine left are not easy to see ,the right cross are standing out much better

You're right - I had some trouble getting a good picture that would show detail in both pieces - maybe it will work better next time if I just place them on a plain white background.

the background will diminish most photos if the colors are similar, I would arrange a background that can be switch from one color to another easy, please do not take my comments as being mean , it is just that I see things different sometime
