Default scrollsaw magazine

Ok-gonna get yelled at but I have to admitt I have never subscribed to Scroll saw mag. I have seen a couple but if I remember correctly they mostly had intarisa patterns. I do fretwork only. Does it have fretwork patterns on a regular basis or is it mostly intarsia? Always looking for new fretwork patterns. Thanks, Rain Man

Its a mix, but there are more fretwork projects than other projects. You know you can request a free trial issue from them, I believe they still offer that.Even if you happen to recieve an issue that doesnt have any projects that you like, theres still tons of great info in the text, definatly worth reading. Also, its nice to help support the magazine since Fox Chapel does so much to support us in our hobby.

Just be carefull, the magazine is as bad as this forum for showing us all how many other ways there are to make beautifull things. And even if you manage to stick to fretwork you will still learn a lot, from how to get more from your saw to finishing tricks.
This is the only magazine I have bought a subscription for. Money well spent.
The only complaint I have is its not monthly.

Hi Rain Man, I am also only into fretwork but I always get the two year deal for the extras. I do a few shows every year and have found enough patterns that sell well to more than pay for my subscriptions. I will get this mag until either I die or they go out of business. Hope this helps in your decision to subscribe or not. Steve

There is a varity of patterns and I haven't seen a issue yet that doesn't have at least one fretwork pattern in it. Then again I have converted several intarsia patterns into fretwork and fretwork patterns into intarsia. just takes a little time....You are missing out but thats your choice....

There were fretwork crosses in the holiday issue.....

Thank you all for your info. I have just never really had the oppurtunity to see but one or two of the issues. Dont understand Sallys remark(Rain Man - your loss) I hear a lot of people state in here that we are a family and I get a remark like that. My question was no different than someone asking whats a good saw. I was just looking for informed feedback about a magazine I have'nt seen very much of. Sorry to offend. Thanks, Rain Man
