Default fretwork mirror

This was my entry in the county fair for "scrollsaw, picture or mirror frame".This piece was cut from 1/2 inch cherry, with 1/8th inch walnut overlay, and a piece of mirror. Its finished size is about 14 inches tall.I was very pleased with how it turned out, and after the judge commented on how nicely done it was, he awarded it a blue ribbon, followed by an Outstanding Exhibit award. He also commented on how nice the finish was, which was my typical danish oil, followed by multiple coats of Deft finish. The pattern is one from the Berry Basket pattern collection that some feel like they didnt get their moneys worth from. This is one of many fine, fancy fretwork designs. A couple patterns like this one pays for the whole collection in my opinion. At any rate, Pajaro wanted to see more fretwork, so I had to flop this piece up for viewing.

Very nice job on the fretwork!

This may be a dumb question, but what is Deft finish?

Nice job! Congratulations!

Deft is a lacquer finish, available in most home-improvement and hardware stores. It comes both as a brush-on and spray and in satin, semi-gloss, and gloss finish. Very popular with scrollers. Deft is the brand name.
