Of all of my entries this year at the county fair, I will say this piece in my opinion was my best cut piece of all of them. Instead of doing it at the size it was intended to be, I shrunk the pattern down so the intended clock opening was small enough for a 1 7/16" clock insert. The clock isnt much more than 3 inches tall to give you an idea of size. I CAREFULLY cut this out of 1/2 inch thick cherry. These types of projects I really enjoy. The tigers are very intricate, and for the clock to look right, both really need to look identical to each other. It really is quite a challenge on something that small and that detailed. So thank you SUE for providing me with a really nicely detailed little clock pattern to work from. The judge didnt really explain why he gave it a second place ribbon, there were three clocks in this category (scrollsaw clock, shelf or desk type), and he chose not to award a 1st place to any of them.I was a bit disappointed in that, as I feel this was my best piece I entered of all of my things!
