Ok, One more post before I got to get up and get moving, or I will spend the whole day here!Yup, another county fair entry... This is designed by Sue Mey. The design can be found in a backissue of SSWC, as well as in the new book "Wooden Clocks (Best of SSW&C) " I cut this using maple , and I dug out the 2/0 spiral blades for a change of pace on it instead of the FD-TC#3 I would have otherwise used. It turned out pretty nice, with danish oil and a few coats of aerosol deft, and fitted with a 5 1/8" clock insert. It recieved a blue ribbon in scrollsaw category "wall clock". Usually I do one nice intricate fretwork clock each year for this category, but this year I didnt get around to it, so this was my entry.

Geeeezzzz all those holes in Maple.......you are one brave man. Cutting looks great, and I like the clock you chose to go with it. First class job.

Thank you. It really was a fairly easy pattern to cut. Sue did a great job on the pattern. (by the way Sue, in your cutting of this leopard, you cheated and skipped cutting a bunch of spots on the head. Dint think anyone would notice did ya? LOL )

| Senior Member | It was about 7 hours of drilling, sanding and cutting for me. I am by no means a fast cutter .If I remember correct, there were 390 holes to cut, so, roughly a minute a hole average???

All the interested bystanders must have diverted my attention from what I was doing I really like your version in maple, beautiful finish and a good choice for the clock insert. A ribbon well deserved. | |
