G'day all, I just finished cutting these for mothers Day. I must try harder to find some decent ply. I used a #2 rev and a # 2 spiral. One has the backer painted black and the other backer is stained jarrah. They have both been given 2 coats of 10% gloss lacquer. If any body would like the pattern It is here: Grandma's Kitchen There is also one with Nana's Kitchen. I did quite a bit of research into the pic I used and the consensus is that it probably is not copyrighted, but I'd hate to get Fox Chapel into strife so I've posted it on my site. If anybody knows different about the pic please let me know. Sorry about the photo quality, but I haven't put hangers on yet so couldn't take photos, where I usually do. BTW If anybody is interested in cutting this be prepared to drill holes, lots of holes. and if you do cut it please post a pic, I'm always interested to see how your interpretation differs from mine.

Nice pattern and cutting JohnB, I got a copy as well, But I may change Grandma's to Mema's since that's what all the Grandkids call Evelyn. If I go that route I let you know to get your ok and to find out what size and style of font you used. They came out great. Thanks for sharing and for the pattern.

Big Thank you, Mate! Printed some copies and saved the file. Thank you, also, for showing pix of what you did. I can only keep my toes crossed, while cutting, that I can do something that's half as good as yours. Please post, if you hear anything yea or naye on a copywrite. If you have the equipment have you thought about resawing from solid stock, rather than using ply for projects like this one? 1x12 lumber (actually approx 3/4 x 11 3/4) should yield 2 or 3 pieces, depending on how thick you want them. Just a thought.... Again, thank you for sharing.

G'day all, and thank you. I probably shouldn't have posted those in the bragging section, it's just that I was so damned happy to be finished I reckoned I'd brag to the world. more re: my stubbornness. ![]() I stacked 3, two 6mm and one 3mm and boy was that ply hard. I lost count on the # of blades I used, and came so close, a number of times, to just heaving the lot. The actual cuttings look much nicer than the photos, so the look of the ply isn't a problem it the manufacture. The face veneer chips of, their more voids than a nut house, and If you stripped the face veneer, you blow your nose with it, it's that thin. The local timber supplier has some 3mm Cherry, veneer both sides of MDF. it was $75 for an 8 x4 si it's a few bob to spend to find test. Enough belly aching from me.
