This was my first real try at this. I used a craftsman 16" single speed saw with pinned ends. Where I couldn't use pinned ends I pressed the pin out feed the blade through the hole and reinstalled the pin. After the cutting I played on word art came up with a font I liked printed it then used carbon paper to transfer it to the wood. I got a new craftsman wood burning set and used it for the first time. I have tin foil taped to the back to reflect the light. Please let me know what you think good or bad. Thanks slotdrag.

I think the cutting and pyro work turned out great.I dont care for the tin foil backer though, I think using black felt or better yet, black acrylic would look much nicer.

Good job , I'm in agreement with Dale on this too , that the backing could help the looks . Even a black painted back ground would look good also....keep it up ...........Marshall

I have trouble believing this is your first pyrography attempt. The letters look spot on! Really could use a different background, but nothing wrong with experimenting!

Love the cutting not so hot on the backer. Did you consider putting it into a light box? The light shining through would really get the message across. Just my two cents. Kevin |
