Default If you drink don't drive. Don't even putt.

Pattern by Gayle

Cut number two.

I noticed a few things on this one.

1 - I need some smaller drill bits, and/or I need to not shrink these down so much (which would mean I need some larger wood).

2 - Little bitty pieces like to snap right on grain lines.

3 - Using plain blades, I would kink the blade under the blade holder screw. A couple of on-off's with the blade and I'd snap the blade at that kink. Halfway through I stopped kinking it. It was much better and I think that's the way it's supposed to be. The problem is I don't know what I was doing differently to stop the kinking.

4 - This is fun.

We've got another one hooked!!!

Nice job. As for kinking the blade, you need to make sure your tension is correct and that you have your blades set strait in thier holders, even plain end blades. If there is the least bit of bend in them, they will kink.

Thank you.

The kink would form when tightening the thumbscrew. It would bend the blade into a hockey stick. ?

All of a sudden it stopped doing that and I doen't know why.

Default Hockey Stick?

That almost sounds like some foreign matter in the blade slot or on the end of the holding screw.
Maybe run a folded paper towel soaked with alcohol into the slot and clean it out.

Just a thought!

rowka:
Dean never looked better As far as the blade kinking goes I had that same problem on my top holder and finally discovered I was tightening it too tight causeing it to kink
mine didn't breake but made it very difficult to thread the blade in the next small hole

G'day Rowka,
a great cutting of one of my all time favourite artists.
Now I'll be listening to Deano all day down the shed
