Default newbie attempt at a cross

Hi all.. here is my attempt of a cross utilising a Sue Mey pattern..
its made of 15mm pine on a 18mm ash cross .. i was not sure where to post it ...as i do not think it is bragging material....

Good job on the cross John. If you should cut another, consider backing the Jesus with a thin dark wood before putting it on the cross, it looks quite nice when done that way.

hi all, thank you for the nice words... and encouragement, i intend to keep at it and improve.. Sue.. yes i could see on your pattern that it had a thin backing and i agree it does look great ..it also helps support the jesus figure, but the friend i made it for asked me to leave it off, he intends to hang it on the wall of his office, (he's a stonemason making gravestones etc) by the way it stands 20" high by 15" across.
