Hello scrollers......here is my latest cutting. A lidded basket pattern by Patrick Spielman. It is a tabbed design. I find them very difficult to do, so I keep trying to do projects with them to gain experience. Am I nuts or what? The lids on top, both sides open up. It was a fun project, except for the tabs.

Very nice. I know what you mean about tabs. I am ready to swear off of them. No matter how careful I am I can't quite get it right. BUT you have done a wonderful job on this.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks tabs are a pain. Evie, it's Walnut, dipped in Watco natural oil, sprayed with 3 coats Deft Satin.

That looks absolutely beautiful WD. Great work. What are tabs? If it is what I think, I have never done those.

Very nice job on that WD. I understand about the tabs and you did a real nice job by using them . I have been known to eliminate the tabs on some patterns similar to that. The the tabs do add a nice little extra touch if a person has the extra time and the patience to include them,. You did well to incorporate them. W.Y. |

| Tom tabs are what go into a slot that normaly lines up a project to a other piece. one side has a tab, a piece that sticks out and a grove or slot that it fitts into. they are a bother. most the time you can cut them off. and just glue the piece together. but on a project like this, the tabs stick out on the other side of the piece adding some dimention. and interest to the project. not to mention holding it all together. they are glued in. but on some old work they are not. but that is for craftsmon far better than me. does this help. your friend Evie
