Cool Custom Picture Frame !!

A friend wanted me to make his mother and father a custom picture frame for a Christmas present and scroll out some Angels and his parents names and apply them to the frame . I have the scrolled pieces just laying on the project and they haven't even been glued yet . It"s ponderosa pine and its my own design and I stained it with a Red Mahogany stain . This Picture doesn't do the frame any justice , thanks for any comments !! Marshall

Marshall
Nice job on the custom picture frame, the scrolled angels and names makes it very special, I am sure they will enjoy it. I also enjoy making custom frames.

Nice work Marshall, did you seal the wood before staining as pine usually is blotchy with the darker stains.

Scrolldog : I have learned some time way in time that pine needs pre-stain on it . I use Min-Wax pre-stain for it does a fine job , so glad that this stuff is on the market . I found some at ACE hardware , its hard to find in my neck of the woods here . Thanks for the infro , and thanks for keeping me in line !!! Marshall

Marshall,

They are going to love it! You've done a nice job meeting that request. Ohhh I hate doing frames, those joints can be a bugger (as John would say).

Hi Marshall,

A very nice frame, especially with the angels and names. The corners look real good.
