|  making your on pattern Is the coyote stencil shop program any good. If it isnt good what program should I use. |

|  Depends upon who you talk to. I don't care for it and use other graphics programs like PaintShop Pro and PhotoShop Elements. There are several tutorials around that provide help in creating your own patterns using these types of packages. Coyote used to offer a demo download with full capabilities except saving the pattern. Try to demo and see it you like it. Good luck.

 | I have used two types that seem to work well and easy to learn. http://www.connectedlines.com/ The Other I use the most is called "Pattern Maker" Originally designed for Stain Glass makers but works very well as a "Tracer" See my Intarsia piesce called "Her Masters Voice". Jack

 | I have never used the coyote program, but most folks that I have heard from do not think that it measures up to the adobe or corel programs. I use Elements 4 and PSP 10. I depend very heavily on the elements program. I have noticed that the premo-pattern makers use programs from Adobe or Corel, so I take this as a strong indorsement of their products.

| Well I used software to make my first fret pattern, a picture of the cut result in in my gallery. It turned out pretty dang good. I've made a intarsia pattern and used the same software as Phantom Phixer, called "Pattern Maker", this one I have not cut. I just did my first sort of portrait if you want to call it that. It is a picture of a girl standing next to a car. The pattern has been put on the wood and cutting will begin very soon. For this I used no software until the pattern was complete and then just to touch it up. I looked all over the place, Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby and others for tracing paper and came up empty. I ended up buying stencil paper, but no way can you see thru it enough to make a pattern. What did I do you ask? Well I went into the kitchen and borrowed some of my wife's cooking parchment paper. I could see right thru it and traced out where I want my cuts. That seems to be the way to go that I have tried thus far. I have a few more items on my list to make patterns of. You all will see the result of my first portrait soon. Tom |
