These are some butterflies that I've made a few of, (all different). They're designed to pin to cloth such as curtains. One friend pinned hers to a wreath of flowers that she made. I got the idea from Patrick Spielmans newsletter. The viening of the wings came from his design, designed for frettwork. They're two piece wings with a half-lap joint holding them at an angle. The patterns of colors inlaid are my own. I make each one with a different design, so no two are the same. The second photo shows the pin attached to the back. BetaBfly2a.jpgBetaBlfly2b.jpg PBfly3beta.jpgPBfly3gama.jpg I've made more, but these are the only ones I've got pictures of. Thanks for looking.

Very nice work. I don't know as I could get the final holes to look as nice as yours, or at least not without practice. Tor

Great project! I love how you used an existing fretwork design and added the inlay - works great on this project! How large are they? |

Jeff, those are very nice, I like the idea of the body being part of the wings, with that lap joint. so much easyer, than what I have been doing. trying to put the wings on the body. with a angale. , I haven't seen that pattern. or idea. thanks your friend Evie
