I think the anticipation for issue 30 had me wanting to work in the shop, so I went and found other projects I wanted to do. Here below are the results. Tiger - Portrait from Charlie Dearing, SSW Fall 07. Charlie said it was good for someone beginning this type of cutting, so I jumped in. ~275 cuts. The whiskers made me very nervous. This was really the first time I used spiral blades for much, but loved the NEW spirals from Mike. As recommended in the article, I added a subtle stain to the project. Size 8x10. Valentine Heart from Sue Mey. Just had to put this one up. Cut from Popular with a painted MDF backing. Size 6x9" Celtic Knotwork Trivet - I have been looking at this pattern for a while now. It was so easy. Made with Paduk and BB. From SSW Spring 06, designed by Sam Willcox. Size is 5" Nature's Majesty Horse - this was from CWC (the other magazine). It is on their website as this month's freebie. Cut from Popular and painted MDF Backing. This one was actually trickier than the Tiger as there was areas where the piece could pull apart easily. It is about 6 x 8 inches (the size of my board!) Now to get started on Issue 30...and Toni and Sue's Challenge.

They are all beautiful, but the tiger is easily the best of the bunch. I was tempted to do Nature's Majesty as well, but decided to do the walleye clock from the magazine instead. After seening yours I might have to put it back in the pile.
