Oven rack puller/pusher.
I made one for my sister and she picked up orders for 12 more so far. I used Steve's key chain program for the lettering and some will have other designs like pies.
Some will also be paired with a trivet. Many excellent trivet patterns in the free pattern thread in this forum.
Using scrap pieces of cherry, oak and butternut about 1" thick. Just sanding 'till they feel soft and 2 coats of spray shellac with light 220 sanding between coats.
I guess they will make good Christmas gifts and space fillers on your display table at shows

Well I did my first show yesterday. A small holiday bazaar to start with a table fee of $12. It was slow and steady all day and the heavy downpours probably weren't helping. At the end of the day I brought in $150 and received a lot of compliments. I think I might also have a sale from a woman that collects crosses who fell in love with the Nativity cross. She took my card but walked out without the cross so I'll wait and see. The nice thing was meeting the gentleman from the booth across from me who purchased one of my ornaments. Turns out he is the president of a local guild and was going to share my information and ornament for jury with the members if I was interested in joining. Guess it's true, one never know what opportunities might present themselves. I would like to thank everyone here because without all of the great information I don't think I would ever had done this or been as successful; looking forward to my nexr show!!

Last year I had a booth at the local street fair. Barely covered the cost of the booth so I decided not to do any selling this year. Instead, I volunteered to help out our church booth at the street fair.

Something must have been up when we started setting up our booth and I glanced over at the next booth and saw a Hegner on a table! Hurray! I met a new friend!

So I'm sitting in the church booth when a guy walks up and says he wants to talk to me. My friend, John, sent him over to see me because he doesn't do custom portraits. I didn't even have cards with me, so I wrote my contact info on a scrap of paper for him.

About an hour later John and I were chatting when a lady walked up, again, asking about custom portraits. John looked over at me and said "You're doing better than me today."
