Just a bit of fun....

In many threads on the board I've read of members referring to their shop dog or posting pictures of the same and I thought it would be fun to see the shop dogs collectively in one thread

So, whilst I know at least one board member is going to say that my shop dog isn't big enough to be called a dog - LOL! - let me start my introducing FITO. His name is the diminutive form of the Mexican name Adolfito but for me is an acronym of 'Food In, Turds Out!

Fito is a small. almost 2 year old frenchie, who'll whilst looking a picture of innocence is the devil incarnate when it comes to stealing pieces of wood from my shop and triturating them into sawdust

Say hello Fito!

By the way. If he manages to pass away before I do, which the little begger probably won't, I've told the missus I'm going to ram a broom handle up his backside and use him as a floor mop! - I do love dogs really! :biggrin_old_old:

Tonight my woodworking club had our annual distribution of the toys we made for needy kids. A couple of the receiving group's representatives thanked us for the toys and said that these were the only toys that some of the kids will get. After that, the member who ran the project this year announced that due to the lead testing requirements for toys, we will not be continuing with this project. The club has been doing this since it began over 20 years ago and averaged around 1000 toys per year.
I just hope that next year 1000 kids aren't left wondering what they did wrong.

I see lots of people like to make boxes and with a new book about making bowls (thanks Carole) I'm sure it's going to garner a lot more interest as well as it becomes more readily available. I have already seen some great posts on boxes/bowls and would love to see all this info nice and tidy under a new dedicated section.

I just got back from visiting my daughter and her familly. As they live 5000km away it makes it hard to make things for the kids as shiping is so costly. So I made a whole bunch of things to take out there.
I have a full size truck with a tall canopy and it was full. The doll house and other things are not suitable for a 3 month old or even my 2 year old grandaughter but its all there to be brought out over the next few years.
I ran out of time to paint everything but my daughter can do that for me.
The killer Whale rocker still needs white paint on the body and also on the waves on top of each rocker.
The doll house just plain got out of hand. What I thought would take a coupler of days took 4 weeks. Its 4' high and long and 16" deep. It is 3 floors high with an elevator. That will never be done again by me. I had to come up with a simple system to lock the car from moving if any door was open. I did not want fingers getting cut of as the car came down. That took 5 days and a huge pile of scaps before I got it to work.
All the furniture and the dog crate need painting as well. But my daughter has lots of spare time between a new born and 2 year old as well as driving a school bus full time. I might have to go back out there to help her get it all done. She married a very well paid computer geek but around the house he is all thums. I should of taken this computer with me to get him to fix all the problems I have with it. But most of the problem is me...
Turns out a bunch of my pics are still on my lap top so will post a few when I figure out how to transfer them.
