Is anyone from the Message Board going to the CCA seminars at Dollywood this year, besides me? They start the last week of this month. I hope it is a learning experience for me. If I just learn one new thing I will be happy. I hope some from the board are going to attend so I can meet ya. groozier

Groozier - You will be happy because you will learn. There will be some very talented carvers there. And not just the featured CCA members. Dollywood is about 2.5 hours away for me, and I have a few conflicts in scheduling a trip. I may however drop by for a visit. I want to see the carvings on display, plus I do have a few carvings in the competition. If I find out that I am going, I will send an e-mail. |

Mitchell, Thanks for the reply. I hope to learn alot. I'm not entering any carvings in this year, but maybe next year after I check it all out. I imagine the competition is great at a show of this caliber. Good luck with your entries. This will be my first carving classes. I've been self taught by reading this board and hundreds of dollars worth of carving books. groozier

I got back home tonight and wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to Mitchell. He won some nice ribbons for his carvings at the show. I took the seminars and got taught from some of the best caricature carvers going. IMHO groozier

Groozier, Thanks for the information and the little boost. I couldn't make the trip due to a conflict in my schedule. I heard a rumor that I won something, but have not actually received confirmation from anyone there. You just did it for me! I'm glad you enjoyed the trip and the seminars. ALL of the CCA members are great carvers (naturally) and really enjoy teaching others. Plus they are just great folks that are generally interesting to be around. |
