Default Hobo carving

I finally started carving again, currently working on a 10 inch hobo. Nothing special, just your typical hobo with his hands in his pockets. He will have a cigar in his mouth, and his toes eating their way through his shoes. Probably a patch or two on his pants and a devilish look in his eyes.

It is difficult getting back into carving after several months.
The confidence you feel from carving every day is missing.

There is a saying ' If you neglect your art for one day it will neglect you for two '

Well now I feel neglected. At the rate I've been working I will never catch up.

Nice shots of you and your work in the new Chip Chats Rick. Congrats on the awards!

Thanks Dave, I haven't received my copy of ChapChats yet.

I'll probably get my copy of Chip Chats as soon as I find my mail box. It has not been a good week in Missouri but our house is standing, we're safe and dry and finally have power and water.

Nancy - don't get in any bit rush, it's just a picture of some guy holding some hobos who are better looking that he is.

It was meant as a compliment on you carving - 'cause you sure are a handsome fella.

(Gotta watch my military inspired humor, it sometimes has a little bite to it. Funny, after 20+ years of retirement my Navy mouth is still with me, you'd think 20 years out would erase 20 years in - nope)

Ed, I spent 6 years on Navy Minesweepers the MSC USS Woodpecker (coastal Minesweeper) and the MSO USS Esteem (Ocean Minesweeper), you don't have to backpeddle. *Folks don't always understand my humor either.

(The Woodpecker's ships flag had Woody Woodpecker and the words
'Pecker Power' across it.)

Hi Ho,
That explains a lot!

I was looking at a web page for the USS Woodpecker and found they are having a reunion this year here in Seattle.
