For anyone who has been there what is there to do for non-carving spouses? Are there other craft shows that are more traditional crafts for women. It's a tough venue without some compensating factor to bring along a spouse who is tired of my sawdust.

...the competition is part of Dollywood's fall harvest festival. I've been to the area once before and say the area is very commercial with all kinds of shopping, helicopter tours, Smokey Mountain National Park, etc. I would equate the area to being similar to the area surrounding Niagra Falls. The area consists of two towns Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg which the main highway runs through on it's way to the park. My sisters seemed to enjoy the area for relaxation and shopping. If you go to the dollywood website http://www.dollywood.com/ it will show information on the festival and give links to other sites related to the area. Also if you google 'pigeon forge' it will also list other sites of interest. |
