Default My first posted pic

The new saw made all the difference in the world giving me the ability to finish this portrait. I did some other stuff so far, but this is my first portrait as well as my pattern. Although, I must give credit to steviegwood for helping me through the conversion of this pic into a pattern. Without his help, I wouldn't have been able to do it. So, here's the finished work. I need to get a frame for it and am hoping to do another one on better wood. This is that nasty cheap stuff from Lowe's, but since I never did a portrait before I didn't want to take my chances in spending too much for firewood

Hi Mia, I see it came out alright. I am interested in seeing the letters that you spoke to me about for on the diploma. Glad that I could help in some way. What does your daughter think of it? Steve

She hates it because it's her...typical teenager.

I see where your daughter gets her talent from! That's very nice work.

Great job Mia.
I hope you and your daughter don't fight over using the saw.

At least she's not going 'against the grain' (LOL) like some teenagers do. I know... that was corny.

BTW... I ordered some of the 1/4" oak ply from (I'd better not say) on line and it was the same ply as Lowe's and Home depots. Very disappointed.

Do tell! If you're not happy with the product, you're entitled to express your displeasure in a public forum.

Hi Mia

Your first, eh? It's a big step and you're to be congratulated on taking it.

Some time ago we had quite a deep conversation about what makes a good pattern and it would be interesting to see if you've got anything to add to the thread. Those who are starting out often see things that seasoned scrollers just take for granted.
