Hello Everyone I was able to finish the Candy Dish from my WIP thread. For thoses that may not have seen it, It was made from a Bamboo cutting board to make the dish and some left over Canary wood to the pedestal base. I used the Canary because there was not enought wood in the cutting board for the dish and the pedistal and it was the only extra hard wood I had. I think it was a great choice as the colors is very close to the Bamboo. This was the first time I've used Bamboo in a woodworking project but it wont be the last, it cut's and sand's really well and takes a great finish. I'am very pleased with the way it came out. Thanks Carole for such a great book and clear instruction. I plan on showing it off at work on Monday the cashier who rang it up thought at $9.40 was a lot for a cutting board, I want to know if she still feels that way when she see the finished project.. As always any and all comments are welcome.

That is absolutely beautiful. Who would have thought a Bamboo cutting board could show such depth and beauty. Wonderful work. Keep it up. Ron C.

Thanks so much for the nice comments. Rick, Ron C and Ray. I'm going to HAVE to take a break from making project from Carole book. Evelyn want me to start making Snow flakes and I have a special request for a Tic-Tac-Toe board.
