Default Amazing Grace x8

Here is the Amazing Grace piece by Steve Good
1/4" Mahogany Ply
Boiled Linseed Oil cut 50/50 with Mineral Spirits
Shelac Finish
I stack cut 4 at a time...9 hours for each stack..start to finish
These were also a special order from someone that got one of the original three I cut out of Oak ply...these came out much better, but I still need some practice.

Very nice! I've really got to start paying attention to some of these patterns.

Well done sir!

I have that pattern printed out for cutting but have yet to do it.

After seeing yours I believe I'll put it closer to the top of the stack.

Lord Bless!

I WAITED patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me and heard my cry.
He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay,
And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.
He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God;
Many will see and fear
And will trust in the Lord.
Psalm 40:1-3

Very nice cutting. Thanks for giving us a time frame. I sometimes think something is going to be quick and easy and am frustrated with the amount of time it takes. I assumed I was slow but maybe I need to be more realistic.

Hey Sally and other members,
Just because it took me 9 hours start to finish...doesn't mean it will take you that long...I never rush pieces like this...especially because the customer wanted 6 of the 8 I cut...I wanted to make them as good as possible...she is my best customer so far and has been very good to me.

The type and amount of wood, the saw, speed, and blade type all make a difference.

I didn't want anybody to be discouraged and not cut a piece just because it might take a long time...you'll just have to try it for yourself once or twice.

I find that putting one piece aside for awhile and cutting something easier helps take away the bordum, and it makes it easier to go back to it with a fresh start and clear mind.

Rick
