Default Mascotts

So to be nice to a friends kid I made their school mascott out of wood. It was such at hit I had to make a couple more and I keep getting more request but I am board of the bulldog and hate to keep giving them away, expecially to people I don't know. I have no idea how much to sell them for. I also did this wildcat for my daughter but its not quit right. So I am thinking for the kids in my family doing the schools mascot. I think they tuned out ok.

They look very good, it is no wonder they are desired, especially when they are free. How long does it take to make one how much do the supplies cost you, and do you really want to keep making them these are some of the factors you have to consider when you decide what you charge. If you don't want to make a bunch of them but don't want to tell people no, charge more, don't mind making them, cover your cost plus a bit for your time. Just my thoughts. saw dust

If they sell too fast the price is to low...One thing to consider, if you start selling them is are these copyright protected mascot logo's..I;ll bet if you check you will find out the schools own the rights to the logos and you really should request written permission to duplicate them for sale.

Nice work! Don't do em for free. Everyone wants one when it's free. Charge at least $15 for each one. As far as the copyright goes, just don't sell too many.

They look great twistinwood. I'd sell them for around 20 or 30 dollars each (depending on how long it takes you to make them). Maybe more.

They only take about 1.5 hours to cut and paint and a half hour to assemble. so not very long. The wood I usually get from peoples trash, old tables, shelves, just junk. I am on a budget like everyone. I am going to make one or two for the school systems silent auction, should help with copyright laws a little. Their are different looking than the original mascott, if that helps get away from copyright laws. I think I remember a art teacher telling me if its different its not a copy. He also said their are no new Ideas just different ways to see the idea. So I dont know. I really just drew what I saw, not tracing or anything. I sure am glad you guys thought they were neat. Hard to tell from freinds and family. Heck you should see the ashtray I made my mom in second grade and it the best piece of art ever (-: I got one from my kid and I love it, its not a ashtray anymore they are candy dishes..

I really like the way the bull dogs are inset with the colored frame. I have never seen this before and know I will be trying it on something.
I agree with what many have mention about getting, but really probably buying the rights for the logo. I live in the NW and have been told that one school wants 10 grand for the right to use there logo.
I don't know if you would get in trouble for giving them away or not, but put me on your list for the BullDog in orange please.
Nice work and good luck.
