First attempt with color. The top picture is unstained. The bottom picture... the bridle is watered down red acrylic paint (watered down so you can see through it) and the Mare is Red Oak stain for the head, Walnut stain for the mane and the colt is Golden Oak stain. |

They look great a really fine job of cutting. I like the stained one the best. The color really make the cutting come to life. Thank for sharing your work.

Charlie, I do love the stained one the best too. Your have done an excellent cutting job and the slight colors you added makes the piece brilliant /radiant!

| Workin' for the Weekend |
Have thought about doing some partial coloring in the past, but this is going to push me into doing it. I was always afraid I would screw something up and then waste the wood and the time, but seeing it done shows me it IS possible and will look good. Thanks again Charlie for some inspiration. (or a swift kick to get me going)
