The twins and the Swan look good. The white wall looks real good as well.

Grover, you nailed that. The grain on the wood creating the ripple is right on. I've never been much for intarsia, but that works for me.

I love the reflection of the swan!

Other than lonliness, what made the Hawk want a stable mate? Different tools for different jobs? Pairs scrolling?

the hawk is a bottom feeder and i wanted a top feeder, , again!! I had a Dewalt before I got the hawk, , i like them both for different jobs. i do a lot of intarsia and the hawk can't be beat, , IMHO!~! for fret work i like the Dewalt a lot better

G'day Grover,
That's very nice piece you've done there.

I really like the swan and the reflection with the cygnet. Great.

I could never afford to do a swan that large, ours are black and I reckon a hunk of ebony that size........................

Lovely swan - especially with the reflection. As for 2 saws, I cannot understand those that collect multiples of the same piece of machinery (other than those who collect for historical/curiosity reasons). Each time I have updated my machine, for something better I have managed to sell the predecessor at a good price (usually in the pub!). I cannot imagine a saw that would work better for me than my Hegner - and although it is a bottom feeder, after practice, I am pretty adept at threading the blade and this is completely outweighted by all the Hegner's other advantages. Our shop is really short on space with the machinery we have, so we just couldn't afford to have two pieces of kit doing the same job, although, I suppose if you have lots of room ... the major advantage would be to demonstrate to others with another saw alongside for them to practice on.

Sue

I would love to have a second scroll saw and room for it! I'm always working more than one project and to have one set up for fretwork and one for intarsia would be grand. Plus my 8 year old daughter likes to cut on the saw, but obviously she can't when I am.

Oh yeah, that Swan is awesome. Good work

first I must say nice job on the Swan.
Now since you say the Hawk is a bottom feeder, it must be an older model.
The G4 is top and bottom.

Sue,
I normally would agree with you but I also have 2 scroll saws. I kept my Delta SS350 for use at our club meetings. My G4 is way too big and heavy to be transporting.
Other than that if I am happy with my saw I see no need for another. The only other reason I could see for multiples was if I were in business and I would need an emergency backup.
