| Boxless Rose My version of the rose box, minus the box.
My brother-in-law had given me the wooden oval/frame for Christmas and I thought it would be perfect to frame the rose with.
Not sure I like the black on the oval but I didn't really care for the grain of the wood. I wanted the grain of the rose to stand out more than the background it was on.
The rose is cut with red oak.

| If you had taken the photo with a lighter background I seriously doubt the dark oval would be an issue. It seems to dissapear in the pic you attached but on a light background, I'd imagine it will really come to life and draw the attention in to the rose with the frame doing it's job, framing the entire project. In other words .... I like it!! a LOT!!!!! Well done and wonderfully composed if you ask me.

| Usually we are our own worst critic. I think it looks great and you did a great job with the grain. I can't see how you could have improved it. Again great job.

| What an excellent choice for the background.
The wood you chose for the rose is perfect too.
Great finish, great cutting, great job!

| I find myself wondering how much different the rose would have stood out against different coloured back grounds . White , red , blue , green . If it ain't broke don't fix it . Great job .

| WOOOW. Beautiful work, Bobbi. The black background works for me, really brings the rose out.
